I’m fascinated by people’s stories!
Everyone has a unique story or a special bit of wisdom to give the world, but all too often the cherished heart of the message is lost in translation.
Words are the building blocks of story. Authors of all kinds, entrepreneurs, educators, department heads – even songwriters, must use words to communicate information in books, brochures, newsletters, and on websites. Clean, concise, accurate language sharpens the focus on the message you are attempting to communicate. And that is my gift to share!
I have always been a word nerd. I love everything from onomatopoeia and alliteration to idioms and metaphors. I read for work, for fun, for information and for inspiration. I take notes, I journal, I write articles, essays, letters, and sometimes poetry. I love blogs, magazines, newspapers and books – especially the 66 enlightening ones collected into the Bible– a good thesaurus, historical novels, true stories and all children’s books. Words are the building blocks of my happy place.
I’m a wife to Robert, mom / mother-in-law to eight outstanding adults, Granna to nine amazing grandchildren, and the oldest of 13 siblings whom I love dearly. At one point in my life, I was a prolific quilter, piecing fabric together to create handmade heirlooms for each of these family members, as my mother had done before me. My quilts often told a visual story that reflected my special relationship with that person. More recently, I have begun stringing words together in a similar way – to craft a story that has a lasting impact.
I hope I live long enough to tell all the stories and use up all the fabric scraps I’ve collected.
